What do you get in a bag?
A FRESH Share of the harvest will usually be a large grocery bag of seasonal produce every week, for 20 weeks. In practice, some weeks it will be a greater volume, at other times less.
Owning a share also includes you in monthly organizational newsletters and weekly information associated with each distribution throughout the season, including recipes.
FRESH SHARES vary with the season and are subject to the vagaries of the weather.
Below is an example of the contents of a Full Share from July 2012:
| Vegetable | Quantity | Unit |
| Romaine Lettuce | 1 | Head |
| Tomatoes | 1.5 | LB |
| Cucumbers | 1 | LB |
| Green Peppers | 1 | LB |
| Summer Squash | 1 | LB |
| Parsely | 1 | Bunch |
| Beets | 1 | Bunch |
| Carrot | 1 | Bunch |
| Russian Kale | 1 | Bunch |
| Green Onions | 1 | Bunch |
| Basil | 1 | Bunch |
| Green Beans | 1 | LB |
NOTE: Half Shares are roughly half of the total produce by weight compared to a Full Share and on average contain 3/4 the number of varieites in any given week.
FRESH Shares 2013:
this year we are returning to a Sliding Scale price structure. Our prices are based on market rate; we use a sliding scale to ensure that our food is highly accessible, and to allow those who can afford it to help subsidize access for those who can not: keeping the Community first in C.S.A.!
Like all farms, we need to find the balance between a fair price for farmers, paying skilled people to be professional Stewards, and a price that consumers can afford.
There are 2 options for becoming a shareholder with FRESH in 2013:
Full Share: Available for 20 weeks from mid June through October. Receive roughly a 10 pound bag of vegetables weekly, a great opportunity for families and local veggie lovers.
Sliding Scale for a full share ranges from $400.00 to $800.00, with the market rate calculated in the middle: $600.00 (=$30.00/Week)
Half Share: Available for 20 weeks from mid June through October, a smaller bag ideal for people interested in trying a CSA for the first time, single person/ small households, or those still warming up to the idea of eating a lot more fruits and vegetables on a daily basis.
Sliding Scale for a half share ranges from $150.00 to $600.00, with the market rate calculated as: $350.00 (=$17.50/Week)
Deposits of a minimum of 1/2 of total due are currently being accepted to reserve a share for 2013.
The following is a table we have created to help guide your final price decision. Please use it in conjunction with your own financial planning for the year to determine the Share price that works for you!
