A garden at every school,

garden in every neighborhood…

gardens everywhere!

FRESH supports and promotes school and community gardening.  These projects strengthen community and develop leadership, improve individual and community nutrition, provide experiential educational opportunities and develop a sense of place and stewardship of the environment.

We are involved with a constellation of gardens throughout New London County and are always happy to hear about new projects springing up.  We can offer moral support, technical assistance, and identification of resources to those interested in starting new school or community based gardens.

FRESH manages community gardens in New London, including our urban hub – the FRESH Community Garden Center, at the corner of Williams and Mercer Streets.

We are very proud also to have helped create the Caulkins Park Community Garden, also in New London, and often refer New London residents to that project when urban plots at our own site are full.

If you are interested in helping with garden-based educational projects, for children and/or adults, starting a garden in your community or school, or for any other gardening related inquiries, please contact FRESH at 860 444 8050, or email at freshnewlondon@hotmail.com

If you are interested in participating as a gardener in 2013 in New London, please read the general garden guidelines below, and then contact us.
