Mobile Market

The FRESH Mobile Market is a roving affordable organic vegetable market fully staffed by FRESH Summer and Fall youth participants. The Mobile Market ran once a week on Fridays from July-October of 2006, and is scheduled to run twice a week in the upcoming season. The market visits neighborhoods in New London with little access to fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as children's summer programs, shelters and non-profit agencies.

Produce sold at the Mobile Market includes: carrots, potatoes, cabbage, collard greens, turnips, lettuce, dill, parsley, cilantro, cucumbers, watermelon, squash, tomatoes, and green onions…….all freshly picked that morning, all grown without the use of chemicals!!!

The Mobile Market stops at Hodges Square, Broad St outside of Alliance for Living, the Drop-In Learning Center, 127 Hempstead, the Briarcliff Apts at the corner of Colman and Redden Ave, the Bates Woods Apts on Buchanan Rd, and the Covenant Shelter.

FRESH Market at Michael’s Dairy

FRESH partnered with Mitchell College to create a locally-grown, fresh foods market at the historic Michael’s Dairy in New London. The market, which was open Saturdays Sept-Oct. of 2006, was staffed by FRESH youth workers. The market will re-open in July of 2007 and run through October.
